Teaching resources and ideas
Resources and teaching ideas for bicultural and bilingual classrooms are shared here for free. Please use and adapt them to the context you are working in and the culture you are working alongside.
Share your experience and adaptations (Please tag #biculturalresources) so that many more young people around Australia can thrive, enjoying meaningful and connected classroom experiences.
TEACHING IDEAS
My intention is to share what I can to encourage teachers to engage with the often unfamiliar context (place, language, culture) of remote schools, to support the creation of exciting, immersive and engaging learning opportunities.
UNDER DEVELOPMENT - Books for both way classrooms
Text resources relevant to life in remote Australia, written in useful English.
These books will provide reading material in everyday English about everyday activities, supporting student’s literacy and language development while they negotiate life around two worlds.
